I quickly realized my current kicks would not cut the mustard.

I just had to tell you about my Blundstone boots. You see, I was set to embark on a 3 week road trip starting in March 2011.  It was to take me from Saskatoon to Vancouver, to Halifax and finally to London, ON.  All in 3 weeks. After arriving in Saskatoon to kick it off, I quickly realized my current kicks would not cut the mustard. I needed something comfortable, warm and durable; basically it had to be good at everything. These Crazy Horse 550's fit the bill. They withstood -30C in Saskatoon (thanks to the sheepskin insoles!), hiked in the mountains, walked the mean streets of Winnipeg and the beaches of PEI and Nova Scotia. Comfy from the start, there was no break-in necessary. A year later, they are pictured on the sideroads near Woodstock, ON, nicely Nikwaxed and ready for their next adventure. Patrick
