Blundstone and Pop Trading Company Take on a Tactile Collaboration

Blundstone and Pop Trading Company: built on heritage reimagined for today.

Hobart, AUSTRALIA / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS – 22 JULY 2026 – Blundstone and Pop Trading Company have come together in a one-of-a-kind footwear collaboration that merges heritage with modern spirit through a playful approach to materials.

For their first project together, Blundstone and Pop Trading Company revisit the beloved Chelsea boot with an original perspective. Across three limited-edition styles, the collection explores the tactile qualities of premium hair-on cowhide, celebrating the natural variations, markings, and character within the material itself.

At the heart of the project is a shared approach to reinterpretation. Using material as a starting point, the collaboration brings new texture, finish and detail to an iconic silhouette while staying true to what defines it. Beginning with hair-on cowhide, the project evolved through a series of treatments and applications, resulting in three distinct interpretations of the classic Blundstone boot.

Joe Carfora, Global Range Manager at Blundstone says: "With the Pop Trading Company collaboration, we’ve taken the iconic Chelsea Boot and pushed it somewhere unexpected. The upper and backstrap materials provide each boot with a unique pattern and character. No two pairs are the same, which makes this limited-edition range feel even more one-of-a-kind.”

While Blundstone may not be an immediate association with the skate culture that Pop Trading Company moves in, the connection between the two brands felt natural from the outset. The collaboration grew from a shared appreciation and evolved over time, shaped by ongoing experimentation with materials, a willingness to test ideas, and over three years of development.

Ric Van Rest, Founder of Pop Trading Company says: “Everything we do at POP is personal, from design and graphics to campaigns and collaborations. I’ve worn Blundstone boots for over 20 years, alongside many friends, who work in construction and hospitality, they relied on Blundstone for their durability and the boots became their everyday wear. Their comfort and versatility make them just as suited as workwear to dressing up. We spent over three years developing this collection, taking the time to create durable, great-looking everyday shoes that only get better with wear.”

Amy Munting, Global Head of Marketing and Brand at Blundstone says: “Pop Trading Company has been on our collaboration wish list for some time. As a 150-year-old heritage brand, we’re always looking for ways to evolve and explore new territory. This collaboration allows us to reach new audiences and step into a streetwear space we haven’t always played in.”

The spirit of the collaboration extends into the campaign imagery and film, directed by Patrick Louwerse and photographed by Woody Bos. Mirroring the distinct backgrounds of Blundstone and Pop Trading Company, the film centres on the unlikely friendship between a man and a miniature horse. The visual world reflects the brands’ shared focus on products designed to be worn, used, and lived in, while capturing the playful spirit underpinning the collaboration.
