Canoe Heads for Kids: Helping Kids Experience the Joy of Summer Camp

At Blundstone Canada, we’re inspired by the incredible work of Amici Children's Camp Charity and their mission to provide children with access to the transformative experience of summer camp. We’re proud to support their efforts through Canoe Heads for Kids, a unique and meaningful event that changes lives.

Taking place on May 24, 2025, Canoe Heads for Kids is a one-day event where participants complete a 7.5 km portage, and 7.5 km paddle then come together for a celebration. The event raises essential funds to help children facing financial barriers attend summer camp, opening the door to experiences that foster confidence, resilience, and lifelong memories.

For many kids, camp is more than just a summer activity—it’s a place to grow, explore, and discover their potential. Amici Children's Camp Charity ensures that children from low-income families can access multi-year camp programs, creating opportunities for personal growth and meaningful connections.

One camper from Camp Kitchikewana shared:

The need for these experiences has only grown in recent years. Children from low-income households often face barriers to recreational activities like summer camp, and Amici’s work helps bridge that gap. By partnering with camps across Canada, including those supporting children with disabilities and diverse needs, Amici gives kids the chance to thrive in a supportive and enriching environment.

Canoe Heads for Kids is a true community effort, with participants, organizers, and sponsors coming together to make a difference. In 2024, the event raised an incredible $311,999, ensuring that even more children can benefit from the transformative power of camp.

This year, Blundstone Canada is honoured to be part of the event again, we will be attending the event and supplying 10 pairs of boots to the top fundraising team. Seeing the dedication of everyone involved is a reminder of how much we can achieve together to create opportunities for kids to grow and thrive.
